We just posted the first ever episode of The Locker, Rum an' Rubies' radio show, so make sure to check that out! things are definitely coming along nicely. The Wenches are really putting good effort into the site. For example, the graphics page is almost done. It won't be long until you can finally get your hands on those shiny new graphics we promised all of you. RaR Newsletter:

Hello all, this is RhiannonAdelChristy.

First off as this is the first RaR newsletter it may seem choppy so sorry about that. Now to get to the important stuff.

Things have slowed down on the work for RaR over the Winter holiday season. This of course because of the fact that all the memebers were of course busy.
Now that we have a short lull the Staff of RaR are hoping to get things moving again.
To do this we need everyone's help. Because there are so many POTC stories on quizilla it is hard for the RaR staff to contact every author. So please if you write one and want it up send us the info needed using the form in the last journal post.
Also if you have read any good ones you would like to see up send a message to the author asking them is they would like it in the catalog.

Now as RaR is more then just stories, if you make graphics or anything else we also need your help.
We do of course plan on having a graphics page, there we will have the normal link back buttons for advertising. But we have also been talking about such things as fourm and LJ icons, banners, and even layouts.

Note: The graphics don't have to be just based on the RaR theme, but can be simply POTC as well, even just Johnny Depp and other POTC actors.
If you wish to do your graphics based on the site theme, the colors are black and red with the reacurring theme of velvet, lace, gold, rubies, and rum. Layouts for quizilla homepages that support the site are also welcome.
All graphics will be displayed on RaR with full credit to the graphic designer. Also if you wish to make layouts and want to be a full time graphic designer RaR does have a photobucket account to host the layout graphics, but only full time graphic designers get the account and password information.
Full time graphic designers get that information as well as their own page for graphics on RaR. And are simply required to make a least a minimum about of at least one graphic{any graphic} a week.

We have also been working on creating a media section to the site. This section will have all sorts of media. One main one we are working to get working is Pirate Radio. This is also an area where we need your help. First off with the section all together.
So whatever media you can think up go ahead and send in, this means things like Pirate music videos you have made, little animations, little movies, whatever you can think up will be perfect. We just ask you keep them at least pg-13.
Now for the Pirate Radio. We are looking for a few members who wish to be part of this. So far myself as well as Gebo and lng9000 will be recording these.
The radio eps will be scripted, and those who decide to be part of it will have a character which they will play when recording.
The scripts will be written by members of the RaR staff.
If you wish to be a part of this please send a message back to this account telling us so. Of course you must have a microphone to do this. Once you apply and are ready to upload your first radio ep we will send you the audio hosting account so you may upload the file.

Now while graphics and media along with of course the fanfic catalog may seem like enough, we want this site to be a place you want to spend time at. So if you have any suggestions on what we may add please message us at this account with that information. Such as fanart, contests, or whatever you want to see on RaR.
As you can tell RaR is a site for its members, and because of this we can not survive without your help. The RaR staff is not very large and we can not do everything on our own. So we do need your help.

Now in other news we want to welcome our three newest Mods.

Whiteravenragdoll: Our newest Quizilla Mod, who will be helping with writing the newsletters and keeping this account working. She has also been for sometime a Forum Mod.

fadingrightb4youreyes: Our Newest site Mod, who will be taking e-mails and sorting catalog stories.

lng9000: Our Newest Universal Mod, who will be helping with all sorts of stuff. She is also a forum Admin.

Now please though, if you have a question about the site, forum, quizilla account, do not message any Mod or Admin at their account unless told to. Please send all questions or requests to either this account or to jackswenches@yahoo.com or PM one of the Admins or Mods at the Forum.

We are still looking for a few more Mods, so if you had receved the message saying that you were a Jack's Wench and you wish to become a Mod in either this quizilla account, the site or the forum, please either message or send an e-mail telling us which one you would like to Mod. Please note that Universal Mods are not needed. Also if you apply for this remember that you must be up to do the work involved.

Next as for the catalog it can be very easy for everyone to end up messaging the same author. Because of this starting tomarrow there will be a weekly{if needed} list that will be sent out with the usernames of those already in the catalog. We ask that if you plan on helping to either save the updated list to your computer or make a print out whenever it is updated.
This will ensure that in our attempt to build RaR we do not end up spamming authors' accounts.

In other news, the site layout is coming along well. While still not fully finished or ready to open, we have hopes that it won't be long. But as the fact the site designer is pretty busy please be kind, and please don't wait till it is open to start with graphics, catalog hunting or anything.
